a traveling Wife: DIY Face Mask - Cinnamon, Honey, Lemon

DIY Face Mask - Cinnamon, Honey, Lemon

Monday, January 12, 2015

I spend a ridiculous amount of money on face masks, lotions, potions, etc to try and keep my face on track. Some of the face masks I have bought in the past were well over $40. Even if I go with a less expensive product, it all adds up quick. I sure hope A is not reading this!!

Because I am trying to cut costs on items such as eating out or shopping for clothes, I might as well cut costs on beauty products. This led me to trying a few home concoctions for face masks. Some of these worked and others were just epic failures. However, my efforts in testing really paid off because I found the best, ever, DIY face mask. Bonus that it is perfect for all skin types.

DIY Face Mask

The benefits of this face mask completely amazed me and now I use this all the time. On weeks that I am too lazy to create the simplest concoction, my skin acts out with cystic acne, dry patches, and inflammation. It's just ugly.

Here are the three ingredients you will need;

I bet you already have all of these. The measurements really aren't all that important. I use one lemon wedge, one dash of ground cinnamon, and one squeeze of honey. Squeeze is now a proper measurement!

Now on to the benefits. You are going to be blown away!

Cinnamon - can help rid skin of acne, temporarily fills in fine lines, and is a gentle exfoliant

Lemon - can help even out hyper-pigmentation by brightening skin, antibacterial properties (no more blackheads), can help decrease or eliminate oily skin, and is a good cleanser

Honey - naturally antibacterial (no more acne), can slow down aging with antioxidants, unclogs pores, and moisturizes skin

Go mix this up in your kitchen and apply it to a clean face. The easiest way to do this is will a cotton ball or cotton pad. Let this bad boy sit on your face for however long you want. Do some laundry, dishes, or just take a long bath. When you are ready, get some warm water on your hands and gently scrub your face. Utilize all of the benefits of cinnamon and exfoliate away. Now you can enjoy your radiant face!
